Sometimes before editing your HTML template, you need to backup your current template so that if all does not go well, you can always reinstall your already backup template. This way you won't loose your scripts.
Now am going to show you how to backup your blogger template with these easy steps
Step 1
Login to your blogger dashboard
Step 2
Click THEME/TEMPLATE from the menu on the left side bar of your dashboard
Step 3
Now click BACKUP/RESTORE at the top right conner of the window
Step 4
Click DOWNLOAD FULL TEMPLATE
Now your current template will be downloaded to your hard drive. You can rename it so you don't forget.
